Wedding ideas? Here's a big one for you. Did you know that, in the USA, the average cost of a wedding in 2019 was almost $34,000 according to research done by The Knot? Crazy right?! And this doesn't even include the honeymoon!
Just for comparisons sake, what else costs around $34000? Well... one year at most private colleges is just over $35000. Or... you can buy a brand new Nissan 370Z for just under $35000! OK, now we're talking, LOL!
But if you are planning on getting married and don't have $35,000 just laying around, then what do you do? Most women appreciate getting and receiving some help in the form of information, tips and the like when they have a problem they need help with. So let's get started.
Everyone already knows how expensive weddings can be and just how fast wedding costs can get out of hand. It’s certainly not a secret. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, you might be surprised at just how many good deals and great prices you can find on the wedding items that you really need, the must have items and the things that you really want - if you just know where to look.
Take my friend Amy as an example of a wedding story that you don't want to copy. In fact, she was the inspiration for me to create this website in the first place. You can read more about that here if you'd like. She got married about 15 years ago, it was her first marriage, and when it was all done, she had spent way over $30,000 - all on her own credit cards! Remember, this was in the early 2000's. So you can just imagine, at that time she had one of the nicest and swankiest weddings available in downtown Atlanta.
Then she got divorced less than 2 years later. And my friend was left with the bills - still in debt over $30,000 for her wedding 2 years past. And now she was all alone! Seven years later she managed to pay it all off and swore she would never do that again. And she didn't - because she just got married again a little over a year ago in an intimate church wedding and had a nice party at a local restaurant afterward - and she told me she didn't spend even 1/10th the costs of her first ceremony and she was so proud of that!
So, weddings don’t have to cost an arm and a leg . . . and your first born child too, LOL. :~) Beautiful weddings that make the bride (and groom) happy CAN be done for less. And that is one of our main goals here - to help all you fabulously frugal brides, when it is your turn to walk down the aisle, to plan a wonderful wedding on a budget that you and your hubbie to be, can both afford AND love - at the same time.
