All About Us At Fabulously Frugal Bride

Hi y'all fabulous ladies and gents!! My name is Lynn and I am the web designer, researcher, writer and head bottle washer for this wedding tips and ideas website called FabulouslyFrugalBride.com.

Having developed lots of successful websites in the past in many different areas I decided that I wanted to do something a little different with this one and I’ll tell you right now where the inspiration for this site came from.

A few years ago one of my very good friends, I’ll call her Amy, got married. And over just over a year or so period of time that it took her to plan and have her wedding, which was her first, she ended up going in debt over $30,000 - mostly on credit cards, for things like supplies, a super fancy venue in Atlanta, food, flowers, dress, and you name it. And this was about 15 years ago in the early 2000's. So needless to say, she had a top dollar wedding in every way for that time.

Then about two years later she got divorced. So that was a tragedy in itself, but then she was also left with over $30,000 in bills and other credit card charges to pay off all by herself. It took her a little over seven years to pay it off. Seven years!! This past year she got married to a wonderful man and had a much more intimate church ceremony and a nice after wedding dinner party in a nearby restaurant and I’m sure it didn’t cost 1/10th of what the other wedding cost and it was all quite lovely. And she is still married to the second guy, thankfully. But she learned her lesson the hard way on the first wedding and vowed she would never go into that kind of debt again.

But I do know lots of people myself in my own circle of friends and family who have gotten married over the years, some more than others LOL, and how outrageous some of the total fees were for their ceremonies. And what their final bill was once the wedding was over - simply outrageous.

And that got me to thinking, there’s got to be a better way for people to have a nice wedding - one that they would really be truly proud of - and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it - and then be in debt for years afterward just to pay it off. Who wants that sort of stress hanging over their heads for years and years?

So that’s why I decided to create this site, fabulouslyfrugalbride.com

It is my hope that this site will be one of those websites that gives people from everywhere help in planning their wedding on a budget they can live with. Not just for women, but men too, with loads of information on where to go and how to find the things that you need for your wedding ceremony - the things that you’re going to buy anyway, but hopefully at much more reasonable prices after using some of our ideas. Why? So that you can have the most fabulous wedding of your dreams, and maybe even a better one than you originally thought based on some of the information that can be found within the pages of this website.

So here we go, my mission is to give you truthful and unbiased information so that you can use it to make the best decisions possible on where to find things that you need for your wedding. And when you’re planning your own wedding ceremony please visit us often as we will be adding all sorts of tips, tricks and offers on things that you can do yourself to help lower the total costs as well.

Plus, if you are any kind of DIYer, or are willing to learn, we plan on adding lots of information on things you can do yourself too in the future. Because in the end, I hope you don’t have a large credit card bill like my friend Amy did for years and years once your wedding is over. Because that is simply not the best way to start your lives out together - with mountains of debt hanging over your head.

I hope you have fun looking around this wedding ideas site and let me know if we can help you in anyway. Enjoy!
